As far back as I can remember I’ve been in love with trees.

I used to drive my father and grandfather crazy always asking them to take me to work with them. That was 35 years ago.

All they kept talking about was getting good grades and all I wanted to do was get out of the house. Eventually, they gave in and started to let me do some small jobs like cutting grass and trimming bushes. 

It was so boring. I wanted to do the fun stuff. The dangerous stuff.

Eventually, I convinced some of the older guys on the crew to teach me how to tie knots and climb. I was in heaven.

Soon I started to spend my summers working with the crew from sunup to sundown. I wanted to learn everything there was to know about the business. Some days I would ask so many questions that it really got on everyone’s nerves.

Just dig.

That was the only answer I got and it turned out to be the only answer I needed. I went from hating to get my hands dirty to wanting to get my hands dirty and I’ve never looked back.

I never realized what they were doing until years later. The land was the teacher. The trees were the teacher. The work was the teacher.

Getting my hands dirty was the teacher.

After school finished I started working full time and my hands have been dirty ever since. For over a decade I worked for other people and really learned the trade inside and out.

In 2014 I was finally ready to go into business for myself. I had saved some money, become a certified arborist, and had real experience.

Since then I’ve been serving Mcallen and the RGV with a simple philosophy. 

The way I see it we really have two customers. Our first customer is the people that call us but the other customer is the tree itself.

If these trees could talk what would our report card look like?

No matter what we do with trees, landscaping, irrigation, or stone we want to earn a good grade from both customers. Every customer matters and every tree matters too.
